Intake/exhaust grille - why is there no mesh in the grilles or the mesh is with large windows?

Dirt settles on the fine-mesh mesh, blocking airflow. Pollution from outside will be caught on the filters, which are easy to clean/replace. Cleaning mesh at high altitudes is difficult and expensive. Another important feature of the air intake/exhaust grille is the “zerikropla or dripline” to protect the wall from dirt drips.

EPS on the intake and exhaust need to be additionally insulated ? if so, with what ?

  • EPS in the attic where the temp. below zero
  • EPS in the boiler room where it is +21 degrees

What needs to be prepared at the recuperator installation site?

At the installation site, you need to prepare the approach of the sewer, electrical outlet, twisted-pair cable – optional for recuperators on WI-FI.

What diameter should the intake and exhaust be?

The intake and exhaust should be min. 1-2 diameter larger than the pipe coming out of the recuperator. That is, with the pipe from the recuperator fi 200 the intake and exhaust should be fi 250 or fi 315.

What plan for the thickness of polystyrene foam on the ceiling or the amount of space in the false ceiling ?

The recommended amount of space on the ceiling for the distribution of the installation is 10 cm for pipes fi 75, if the installation is in the false ceiling then min. clearance is 10 to the GK frame to accommodate fi 75 pipes.

What diameter to leave holes in the ceiling for fi125 anemostats.

If we are before pouring the ceiling, in order to avoid drilling at a later stage, sewer pipes with an outside diameter of fi160 can be used at an early stage in the positions of the anemostats.

What diameter holes for anemostats and distribution box stubs should be made in the already existing ceiling?

If you already have a completed ceiling, you need to drill with a 132mm diameter borehole for fi125 anemostats. For fi200 spigots, the hole in the ceiling would preferably be fi250mm. For fi160mm stubs, it is best to make a fi200 diameter hole.

What is the difference between a socket expansion box and a nipple expansion box?

The boxes differ in the diameter of the connection spigot. The socket box is designed for direct connection of anemostats and comes in diameters of 100, 125,160, while the nipple box is designed for extension which overlaps the nipple and comes in diameters of 98,123,158

How to plan space for a recuperator ?

In order not to create additional resistance for the recuperator, it is necessary to plan well the place for the pipes for the intake and exhaust min. 30 cm of straight section, for ejector and supply min. 50 cm of straight section.

The pins from the underfloor have punctured the ventilation ducts - what to do in such a case?

If the damage is extensive, it is best to cut out the damaged piece and use connectors dedicated to ventilation ducts to insert new, undamaged sections. Most often, however, the damage is minor, and with the loops for the flooring laid out, it is difficult to reach the wires in a convenient way – the pins must be pulled out, when pulling them out the damaged material will partially return to its original position and the resulting hole can be secured with thick polymer glue and ASTAT mounting tape. In doing so, care must be taken to ensure that glue or other sealant does not get inside the duct and cause airflow restrictions.

What size holes should I prepare in the ceiling?

The size of the hole in the ceiling depends on the diameter of the spigot of the plenum and distribution box. In the prepared design are selected and described diameters of stubs to be used. It is safe to make a hole 1-2 cm larger than the diameter of the pipe.

Recommended muting of the air handling unit ?

To make the installation quiet – we recommend soundproofing the recuperator by installing Pe-flex premium i or SC flexible duct with a length of min. 2-3 meters

Recommended distance of anemostats from walls/windows?

We recommend installing anemostats 0.6 -1 meters from walls/windows.

What length of fi 75 pipes should be ?

min. The length of the pipe fi 75 is 4mb, the maximum length is 12 mb – The most important thing is that for rooms where we have a small demand for air there are not too short sections – that is, for example, in the dressing room, pantry, (you need to artificially lengthen the sections to increase resistance), while if you have to anemostat, for example, 14-16 meters and this is a room strategic point, you should add, for example, 1 pipe to overcome the resistance that occurs on the installation.
